Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A loyal Zelda Fan
The Legend of Zelda OoT Master Quest is quite a good game. Of course it was harder, but nothing was too bad. Actually, some of the dungeons were actually easier. Jabu-Jabu and the Water Temple were a lot easier. Another detail was that you would usually get the dungeon item early on. Remember in the water temple, you had to beat Dark Link to get the longshot... well in Master Quest, you get it almost right away. The only dungeon that was really hard was the spirit temple, fortunately there is a good online guide when you get stuck!

The storyline is all the same, the graphics are the same, it seems like everything is the same, except for the controls. The XYZ thing is nice, but if you want UpC you have to use the C stick, which can get annoying.

The Origional OoT is all the same, nothing changed, so i don't have much to say.

Some nice extras, though are some previews of newer games (including Wind Waker). The WW video shows some good scenes, and shows how good the graphics really are on that game.

I suggest you get the OoT disk while it's still free(ish).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the best games ever created
Ocarina of Time is undoubtedly one of the greatest games ever. It's easy to see all of the thought and imagination they put into this game. Clever puzzles, breathtaking images (as far as the old N64 capabilities allow), perfect music, and an engaging story make this game the masterpiece that it is.

Production started on this baby when production started on the N64, which is good, because the N64 couldn't do a heck of a lot. Its RAM was superior to the Playstion RAM, but because at the time Nintendo felt that producing CDs was to complicated, the games were cartridge based, ruining the potential of many of the games created for it.

This game really pushed the limits of cartridge memory. Ocarina of Time set a record by being the largest cartridge ever, at an impressive 256 megabits.

Sadly that wasn't enough.

The game's one major flaw is that there are hints that programmers had many difficluties, and in some cases, you can clearly see that they wanted to do more: numerous glitches, texture quality inconsistencies, horrilby blurred pre-rendered backgrounds, subpar dust effects, and, the most obvious one, Link's very strange shadow effect (only his feet cast a shadow, the rest of him doesn't).

That aside, there are other truly amazing things about this game. The character models are the better than most N64 games, the cut-scenes are superbly directed, and the overwolrd is huge.

The game's strongest point are the imaginative dungeons. Each one is very well designed. In particular, the coolest part of the game is the mini-boss fight in the Water Temple. I assume most of you have played the game before, so I shouldn't be revealing a lot, but that room really freaks you out the first time you walk into it.

A giant, mist covered, shallow lake, absolutely no walls at all. There are two doors at two ends of the room, a large structure off to the right, another to the left, and a lone tree in the center. You KNOW something is going to happen, but you can't tell at all just what it will be. You see your reflection in the water, you pass the tree, you find that the other door is locked, so you turn back. Suddenly you realize that your reflection is gone, and when you approach the tree, your shadow starts to fight you.

Cool right?

The music in the game isn't excellent, but it's still very good. Most notable are the dungeon BGMs. They range from very ambient (the Water Temple BGM), cool and unique (the Forest Temple BGM), and just plain freaky and bizzare (The Shadow Temple BGM).

This game is great for its imagination and fun, held back by the N64 technology.

If you mastered the original, play Master Quest for a real challenge. (Although if you ask me, the Water Temple is easier in Master Quest).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Come on, ITS ZELDA
Nintendo is making a great move making ocarina of time a port for GC. Master quest puts a new twist onto O.O.T, and who cant resist having ocarina of time (one of the best N64 games)for free. Me being a hardcore zelda fan(Played and beat them all) i was gonna get wind waker anyway so why not get a free disc with it. Not much has changed cept the difficulty and level design, but the game is still very enjoyable.
Graphics: the graphics havent changed much since the N64 7/10
Sound: Still the good ol zelda soundtrack, doesnt use the full sound engine of the gc but still sounds good. 8.5/10
Enjoyment: Whats not to enjoy when youre a green skirt n' nightcap wearin elf-boy out to save the world. The puzzles do require a nice amount of mindwork, though. 10/10
Replay: Not many secrets but still fun to play again. 7.5/10
Thnx fer your time and I hope I helped.Viva la Link!
