Average Rating: Rating: - Best thing I bought all year! I live in an apartment and do a lot of tailgating. This is the BEST grill! I get compliments on it all of the time. No one can believe that it actually does what it claims! It has a big enough grill surface to cook for a party but it is small enough to pack up and take with you. It has become the main grill for home and travel. No one even offers to bring their portable anymore. It heats up very quickly and nothing sticks to the surface. I have used the grill for steaks, burgers, chicken, and to saute mushrooms and onions. I have never used any sort of non-stick agent. It is wonderful! It cleans up with just hot water in most cases! I love it so much that I am buying another one for my father for Father's Day! Rating: - Cooking at the track After cooking on a regular gas grill at the drag strip for years, we noticed a Thermos Grill 2 Go being used by another racer. We got "the grand tour" and decided to buy one for ourselves. The breakfasts are especially easy, since we usually have either ham and eggs or bacon and eggs, and with the grids and flat plate, both are ready at the same time. Burgers are also easier, with no flare ups like the old grill did. This past weekend at Atco Raceway, I cooked baby back ribs. I par-boil them at home and wrap in foil. I set the grill at Low, and slow cooked for 45 minutes, then added BBQ sauce and turned a couple times. Excellent. Cleanup is also a breeze because of the teflon grates. The only complaint I have is with the regulator. Sometimes the flame will only stay lit on High. Tapping on the regulator make the flame fluctuate. How can I get another regulator. Also, is it possible to get a grid to insert where the flat plate is to make the complete cooking surface "gridded"? Rating: - A workhorse grill for a small family We are just finishing our second summer with this grill and have used it A LOT! I think it heats relatively quickly, 10-15 minutes everytime and cooks consistently each time--once you know how long each food cooks, you can rely on it. Very easy to clean--a major plus. Very portable and quick to set up and take down. Great for cooking smaller items--mushrooms, chopped veggies on the right side griddle. Minuses: after two summers, the surfaces are losing the teflon coating especially in the center "high usage" area. Hard to keep level so grease drains properly--the little levelers don't stay put very well on hard surfaces, sliding out. The heating gauge is useless--mine never gets more than a bit beyond "warm." I sometimes miss the smoky flavor of charcoal--though not as much as you would think--well cooked meat has great flavor! All in all, the plusses far outweigh the minuses. We grill more because we have this grill.
