Rating: - Makes Good Good Coffee - Hard to Beat the Features.
We have purchased three Braun coffee makers now over the last few years. Each time before purchasing I have looked at other units and read the reviews. Other units may have an individual feature that is better, but this unit has so many features its hard to pass up and I don't. This purchase was for my office. If we were there more I would have bought a Bunn. However, the problem with reservoir evaporation and no auto-shut off convinced me to go back to the Braun.Where else can you find a unit that makes such good coffee that has timer start, 2-4 hour auto-shutoff, flavor selector, and a water filter. After owning three units, I also know the problems. The timer and brew buttons tend to stick after a while, its hard to pour coffee from carafe with out dripping, and you have to be careful when inserting paper filters or they may fold over and let grounds get into the pot. Still I keep buying them because they are the best buy and make good coffee.
Rating: - Best Darned Coffee Maker in the World
Have owned a couple of Braun coffee makers before and always was pleased with them. Last time we went with Krups and hated it. So we bought this for ourselves as a Christmas present and trashed the Krups. We LOVE it! It makes PERFECT coffee; the auto-timer function is reliable and easy to use; and the carafe doesn't dribble, no matter how fast you pour! (Pay attention, Krups!). It even beeps when it's ready --cute! Forget about Krups and BUY THIS COFFEE MAKER!
Rating: - What a Great Cup of Coffee!
When I decided that I needed a new coffemaker, I looked at my favorite warehouse store and saw expensive machines by Cuisinart and less expensive devices by Mr. Coffee. I did a bit of research and determined that the attractive Cuisinart machines don't brew that good a cup of coffee. The reviews all pointed to the Braun KF187.The coffeemaker arrived from Amazon the other day, and I brewed my first pot yesterday. I was amazed - and surprised. I had no idea that the coffee would be so much better than that to which I was accustomed. The reviewers were right, and I suspect it has to do with delivering the water to the grinds at the optimal temperature. While I have yet to explore the fancy features (automatic brewing, etc.), and don't know how much I care about them, I like being able to set the strength of the coffee and have a say in what temperature the pot stays at. This Braun makes an exceptionally good cup of coffee, and that's what I wanted it for.
